Bake + Sway is a small baking business run by Pam in Sydney. This page explains what happens to your information when you use this website. It is written to be read, not to be scrolled past.
The short version
- I only ask for what I need to reply to you.
- I never sell your information, and I never share it for anyone else's marketing.
- This website does not track you. No cookies, no advertising pixels, nothing that follows you to other websites.
- If you want your information deleted, email me and I will delete it.
Who is responsible
Bake + Sway (Pam) is responsible for the information collected through this site. You can reach me at info@bakeandsway.com.
What I collect, and why
When you subscribe for recipes. I collect your email address, the exact wording of what you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed. I keep that wording because I should be able to show what you actually saw, not what I happen to be saying today.
I use it to send you my recipes and occasional news. When you subscribe you also receive my Silky Smooth Buttercream recipe straight away.
When you send a cake enquiry. To quote a cake I need to know what you are planning, so the form asks for your name, email address and mobile number; what you are celebrating and the date; how many guests; whether you would like delivery or collection; your preferred flavour and style; and anything else you want to tell me.
I use it to prepare your quote and to talk to you about your order. Nothing else.
When you ask about a class. Your name, email address and which class you are interested in, so I can tell you when it runs.
When you send me a message. The Get in Touch form asks for your name, email address, a subject and your message, so I can reply. You also get a copy by email. Sending a message does not add you to any mailing list.
What this website does not do
There are no cookies on this site. Nothing at all is stored on your device when you visit, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to ask you about.
There are no analytics either. I do not count your visit, I do not know which pages you read, and there is no Facebook or Instagram pixel, no "like" button that reports back, and no advertising tracking of any kind.
Everything this website loads comes from bakeandsway.com. No third party sees you reading it.
If that ever changes — if I start counting visits, for example — this page changes first and I will say so.
Where your information is kept
- Sign-ups and enquiries are stored in a database in Sydney, Australia, run by a company called Neon.
- Emails from this website are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. My own mailbox is Microsoft 365.
- The website itself runs on Vercel, and the pages you read are served from whichever of their locations is closest to you.
Who else sees it
Nobody, other than the services above that are needed to run the site and send the emails. I do not sell your information and I do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Zunami Corp built this website and looks after it, so he can reach the systems where your information is kept when something needs fixing.
How long I keep it
- Sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them.
- Cake enquiries, class enquiries and messages: two years after we last spoke, and then I delete them. An enquiry can turn into an order months later, and an order can come back as a question a year after that — but not forever.
Unsubscribing
Every email I send tells you how to stop them: reply to it, or write to info@bakeandsway.com with the word Unsubscribe. A person reads that mailbox and takes you off the list — I do not use an automated mailing tool yet, so it is me, not a robot. I act on it within a few days and never later than 30.
Your choices
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email info@bakeandsway.com and I will do it.
If you are not happy with how I have handled your information you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If this page changes
I will update the date at the top. If the change is significant — if I start collecting something new, or using what I already have for something different — I will say so in an email rather than quietly editing this page.
